Call of Duty Series

Call of duty is the series of first person shooter games developed by infinity ward (later by Treyarch) and published by Activision. The series began with Call of Duty (1), which was released in 2003 for PC and later for consoles and handhelds. The majority of the games were set on World War II, while Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare II was set on different story. The game is owned and published by Activision and published for MAC by Aspyr Media, while developed by Infinity Ward and Treyarch and some games were developed by Gray Matter Interactive, Pi Studios, Amaze Entertainment, Rebellion Developments and n-Space. The engines used to develop the game are id Tech 3, the Treyarch NGL, and the IW 4.0. As of November 27, 2009, total sales for the Call Of Duty series have surpassed 55 million units worldwide, taking $3 billion in retail sales in the process. It is expected that the latest release that is Call of Duty: Black Ops will sell 5 million copies.
